Reverend Horton Heat killed it on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Whiskey Jacques. The band and the crowd was high energy the whole performance as the Rev. et. al. blew through a slew of great songs, such as “Surf’s Up,” “Bales of Cocaine,” and of course, “Psychobilly Freakout.” It’s cool that they come through to such small towns. March 13th proved that there’s a live and lively market for industry veterans playing fun music.
The Red Elvises, a band I’ve never heard or heard of before that night, played before them and were also a ton of fun. Playing some sort of mixture of rockabilly, punk and apparently Russian traditional music? Reminded me a bit of Gogol Bordello but only because they’re my nearest point of reference for this kind of music.
